Patty’s work has been deeply impacted by her childhood years growing up in Zambia, she developed a deep love of the African landscape, wildlife, and people. The land offered an amazing variety of colors and textures displayed in wildlife and plants: a rugged and soft beauty from elephants to butterflies. The love of this land inspires and influences her work today.
Patty enjoys exploring and playing with acrylics, gels, fumage, and mixed media as it offers a variety of effects in her creations. Her work can range from realism, impressionism, and abstraction; often resulting in elements of each coming together to create a desired effect.
Art can be a powerful means to create, imagine, express, and heal. In her professional life as a therapist Patty has felt honored to witness healing moments when clients express sometimes painful emotions through images and art that words may not adequately communicate. Art has played a profound role in her own healing journey and continues to be a life-giving resource.
Growing up in southern Africa, Bob credits collecting butterflies and moths, digging crystals in an abandoned mine, and catching snakes for the local zoo as sparking his interest in nature and wildlife photography.
Based in Rockford, Illinois, Bob earned an MA in Communications from Wheaton Graduate School and is Art Director for an educational publisher.
His passion, however, is photographing the natural world. He has exhibited his images at various art shows and galleries in northern Illinois, including Rockford’s ArtScene and Gallery 5 (now closed) in Rockford. His photos have also appeared in various magazines, textbooks, and advertisements.
Honing his photography skills in Africa in years past has influenced his current work which focuses on the flora and fauna of the Midwest, with a particular interest in birds.
Bob’s hope is that through his photos you will experience some of the wonder, delight, and peace he feels while exploring the world through his camera.
Dr Scholl gallery is not wheelchair assessible.
