PRESS RELEASE INFORMATION...
📢CALL FOR ENTRIES!
Expressions: Art & Verse 2025
On exhibit: March 26 – April 19, 2025
Opening reception: Saturday, March 29, 2025
The Addison Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for our fifth collaboration between Illinois artists and the Illinois State Poetry Society. In March, we will host the Expressions: Art & Verse program in which ISPS poets recite ekphrastic poems they’ve written about pieces of art.
Participating artists will display original artworks that inspired a poem by an ISPS poet. ISPS poets will jury the prospective artists by choosing their favorite from the candidates’ entry images.
Visual artists will submit up to four digital images of their artwork for consideration by the poets. All 2D and 3D visual art media are eligible. Those artworks must be available for display during the gallery exhibition from March 26, 2025, through April 19, 2025. The entry fee is free for ACA members. Non-member entries are $10 per piece, or $35 for four pieces and automatic ACA membership.
Please send digital images to amanda@addisoncenterforthearts.com with the Subject: (Artist Name) Expressions: Art & Verse 2025. In the body of the email include: name, address, phone number, website and/or social media (if applicable). List the attached images like so: File name (OxbowLarge.tiff or IMG2917.jpg): title, media, size, price or NFS. Large, great-looking image files will be considered for press releases and other promotional uses. Indicate whether you are an ACA member or will pay your fee with PayPal or Check.
Deadline for entries is February 22, 2025. Artists will be notified by email which of their pieces, if any, were selected by the poets.
Upon receipt of your entry email, artists will be sent an invoice for their entry fee, if applicable. Artists who want to send a check should apply early to account for added mail time to the following address:
