Norris Cultural Arts Center presents event series at Baker Community Center
St. Charles, September 22, 2021 - The Norris Cultural Arts Center launches its Fall season of “Wednesdays @ One” FREE events at 1:00 p.m. on October 6, 2021 when author William Pack presents a program based on his book, "The Essential Great Chicago Fire" at Baker Community Center, 101 S. 2nd Street, in downtown St. Charles, IL

Pack's presentation coincides almost exactly with the 150th anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire when on October 8, 1871 a fire began on Chicago’s near Southside growing into a three-day conflagration now known as the Great Chicago Fire. Pack looks back at this tragic event which would eventually lead to Chicago's triumphant emergence as one of the world's great cities.
The Wednesdays @ One series continues on November 3 when Debra Miller portrays Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein) in a program entitled, "The Intricate Riddle of Life," followed on December 1 with a program by Terrence Lynch that explores "The Legend of St. Nicholas."
