"Behind Time" by Pat Lagger

Updated: Oct 31, 2020

Measuring 18 x 18 in a customized wood frame created by Dan Grych of The Art Box in DeKalb, Illinois, this encaustic piece by Pat evokes the hieroglyphs of an ancient time. “I like the concept of Asemic writing,” Pat explains. “It allows for the viewer to make their own interpretation about music and the mystery of language in the symbols of the piece.”

Indeed, “Ansemic Writing” is defined as allowing for meaning to occur across linguistic understanding. Pat works on multiple pieces at the same time whether encaustic or mixed media. See more of her artwork at https://patlagger.com
