Updated: Aug 5

IN THE SACRISTY GALLERY at

EPIPHANY CENTER FOR THE ARTS

201 S. ASHLAND AVENUE

CHICAGO, lL

OPENING RECEPTION on Friday, 9/13/24, from 6-9 PM

Currently concentrating on watercolor portraits and figurative work, and sometimes combined with architectural elements, Tony Armendariz presents the subjects in his paintings in the classic realist tradition, either as portraits or in scenes of life. It is his intent to display their soul, or authentic self, which at times may not reveal itself immediately.

Many times, the "window" to his subjects opens and shows itself not only through their eyes but also through other features that emote the complete range of “expressions of life” that include the mouth, hands, clothing, accessories, and body language.

The range of the narratives he captures can be quiet and simple. Some are dramatic and profound. Latin Expressions presents 16 exceptionally well cone paintings capturing subjects mostly from Tony's travels to other countries, including Cuba and Nicaragua. All work is available for sale.

MEET Tony in person at the upcoming reception.

FREE TO ATTEND!

Please RSVP for the opening reception on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
