From Paris to Portugal, the UMBRELLA SKY PROJECT has rained color down upon city streets worldwide to the delight of visitors and residents alike. Now you can view this colorful scene created by 800 umbrellas locally at the Elmhurst City Centre by attending its launch party.

The project, intended to “bring color and joy and promote places and their surroundings,” has obviously been a huge success.

The Umbrella Sky Project began in 2011 as a part of the City of Agueda’s famous annual Agitagueda Art Festival in Portugal. The project, intended to “bring color and joy and promote places and their surroundings,” has been a global success. Elmhurst is only the sixth city in the U.S. to welcome this project on display through 8/31/23.
