Moving Examples of Veterans' Art Displayed Until 11/19/22 at Fine Line in St. Charles, IL


When visiting the exhibit in Kavanagh Gallery at Fine LIne Creative Arts Center, 37W570 Bolcum Road, in St. Charles, IL, be sure to pick up this very helpful booklet containing in-depth information about the eight participating veteran artists, poetry, and back stories from their experiences during their service time.


Her written words were mounted on foam board: MST WARRIOR, SAVE THE CIVILIANS, AND INTO THE LIGHT. She describes the grim realities impacting many who serve, including her own experiences, regarding military sexual trauma (MST).


Artwork by Lt. Col. Bernadine Donato, US Navy and USAF (Retired); "I created this piece from a photo I took at the dedication of the Women in Military Service Memorial in Washington, DC in October of 1997...I was so inspired by her service in the combat zones of the WW II European Theater, I had to create this piece to honor her. She is 1Lt. Katherine Flynn Nolan. She arrive on Utah Beach D-Day +30 and served in the combat zone from D-Day to the Battle of the Bulge with the 53rd field hospital. She is a recipient of the French Legion of Honor amongst other awards.
