Artist Name: Pamela Hamilton
Town: Geneva, IL
Medium: Soft Pastels

Private Label Soft Pastel Line: Pam has curated her own line of soft pastels through Jack Richeson & Co, a fine art supplier. The collection is called, The Pamela Hamilton Basic & Bright Collection, containing 80 colors. Artists can create anything from seascapes and landscapes to wild animals and everything in between.

Background: As early as fourth grade, Pam was making paper dolls complete with little tabs on their wardrobe for herself and classmates. She said she was always “that kid who could draw well.” At home, her mother wasn’t pleased to discover her drawing on walls using potting soil from indoor plants. Then Pam discovered the blank inside pages of her family’s encyclopedia set which she quickly embellished with her drawings and finished by adding her signature!
Art Education & Career: Art classes in high school were followed by a year at The Art Institute of Chicago and then marriage and family. After taking graphic design classes at Elgin Community College, she worked for a print shop as their inhouse designer until becoming the art director for a home decorating magazine. At age 50, she entered her first art show, began winning awards, and is now devoted full-time to fine art.
