DISCOVER ARTWORK THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO WIN
"Before kids, I used to do speed skating marathons. I love every form of skating, from ice skating to inline to ice hockey. At the time, I wasn't in a place where I could play hockey anymore, so I poured my passion into inline skating outdoors. If you know me, you'll know I'm competitive. I love winning. I needed a personal trainer to help me achieve my goals. So I asked a fit older gentleman (a total gym rat) from my church if he knew someone, and he did!
His friend, Neil, was opening a personal training gym 2 miles from my house in Palatine, IL. I was so happy. What luck! I was excited for my first session at the new gym. I was shocked when I walked into ARC gym on my first day. On the wall, in large letters, was this:Â "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."
That was precisely what I wanted to see and do. GET THE PRIZE.
I trained at that gym for two years. I had the best trainers. Aaron Reed was my favorite. He helped me win a place at every race I ran or skated. Can you believe that? It could not have happened without my trainers. With that reminder on the wall, I was in the right mindset when
I was there. What I saw on the wall reminded me of my goals every time they were hard. I imagined myself winning the race when I saw that on the wall.
What's on the wall mattered to me. It moved me to work harder.
I want that for you, too."
