Beth Chien is a mixed-media artist based in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, where she balances a life of creativity, exploration, and connection. Inspired by the raw beauty of graffiti, urban murals, and the timeworn layers of peeling posters on city streets, Beth’s work merges expressive textures with bold mark-making. Her art spans from intimate journal pages to expansive canvases, blending acrylics, collage, spray paint, and oil pastels into layered narratives of color and movement.

Beyond the studio, Beth is passionate about fostering creativity in others. She hosts in-person art workshops and transformative women’s retreats, creating spaces where self-expression and artistic exploration thrive. She also shares her expertise through online art courses, helping others embrace the freedom of mixed media.

When she’s not painting or teaching, Beth can be found traveling with her husband and their two rescue golden retrievers, soaking up inspiration from new landscapes, bookstores, and city streets.
