Joanna Pinsky, Art Encounter's co-founder and Artistic Director, will be exhibiting her most recent paintings at Space 900 Gallery, 816 Dempster St., Evanston, from May 2 -May 31, 2025.

Pinsky has explored 2D shaped paintings throughout her long career ranging from geometric works to architectural fragments. This solo exhibition, Awash, features abstract organic shapes connected by flowing waters or other materials depending on interpretation such as oil or blood. The imaginary shapes are non-specific but inspired by nature. Although the shaped paintings are flat, they give the illusion of three dimensions. Areas are textured with layers of acrylic paint in different colors incised to reveal underlying colors. Learn more at her website: www.joannapinsky.com
