A sunny, spring-like Sunday delivered a large, bustling crowd for the annual "Best of the Best" Show featuring artwork from 12 art organizations across the local area. Friends, family and fans stood shoulder to shoulder throughout the gallery and classroom space of DuPage Art League, 18 W. Front Street, Wheaton, IL, eagerly awaiting the 3 PM awards presentation. Winners received ribbons and/or cash for top placements. About 60 pieces were showcased across a range of mediums, primarily 2D.
Teresa Marrandino judged the show. She is the retired owner of the Art Stop Gallery, who along with her business partner, Karen Sladvik, ran it for a total 48 years – first in Riverside, IL and then later to LaGrange. Teresa has served as an art buyer for private individuals as well as corporations and hospitals. When judging, she states that she looks for the artist’s command of the medium, the overall quality of the work, and presentation.
